WPM (words per minute) is calculated as: (total characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. This is the standard calculation used in most government typing exams. The dashboard also shows gross WPM (before error deductions) and net WPM (after deductions).
Under official Patna High Court rules, a full mistake is a word that is completely wrong or was skipped entirely. A half-mistake is a word with a minor error — such as one wrong character, an extra space, or a missing punctuation mark. Two half-mistakes equal one full mistake in scoring.
