6 things people ask before they use the WHOIS Lookup.
WHOIS is a public record of who registered a domain, through which registrar, and when it was created and expires. Newer registries publish the same data as RDAP.
Since GDPR, most registrars redact personal details or use a privacy service. You'll usually see the registrar and dates, but not the owner's name or email.
If the registry has no record for the name, we show 'looks available'. Confirm with a registrar before you buy.
Search the domain and read the Created date. We also show how many years old it is.
Yes for any extension that publishes RDAP or WHOIS, which covers most of them. A few country registries don't publish data publicly.
To keep the tool free for everyone, there's a fair-use limit on how many lookups you can run in a short time.
