    Your privacy matters to us. Acubens Notepad collects only the minimum data needed to provide the service and never sells your personal information to third parties.
  

1. Who We Are

Acubens Notepad is a free online note-taking application operated by Acubens, based in Patna, Bihar, India. You can contact us at info@acubens.in.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account:

Name — to personalise your experience
Email address — for login and account management
Password — stored as a secure one-way bcrypt hash (we cannot read it)
Notes content — the text and formatting of notes you create
Timestamps — when notes are created and last modified

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account
To store, display and sync your notes across sessions
To authenticate you securely when you log in
To improve the application and fix issues

4. Cookies & Sessions

We use a secure HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising tracking cookies on the authenticated app pages.

If Google AdSense ads are displayed on public pages, Google may set cookies in accordance with their own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties, except:

Google Sign-In — token verification with Google's API
Legal requirements — if required by Indian law or a valid court order
Service providers — our hosting provider (cPanel/shared hosting) who process data only on our behalf

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures including:

All passwords hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12)
HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
Secure, HTTP-only session cookies
Parameterised SQL queries to prevent injection attacks
Rate limiting on login and registration endpoints

7. Data Retention

Your account data and notes are retained as long as your account is active. You may delete individual notes at any time. To request full account deletion, contact us at info@acubens.in and we will delete all your data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Acubens Notepad is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
